My sister used to have a robin that would practically take mealworms out of her hand, but mine aren't quite that trusting.

Hi Gaelyn,
April's almost here -- it's GOT TO warm up sooner or later!

Thanks Mel.

Hi Jan M,
I think this is the first time I can remember seeing a robin eating seed at my place too.

Hi Dana,
If you hear a cardinal singing like that close by, look to the very top of the trees and hopefully you'll be able to spot him. It's hard to believe that much sound can come from a bird that only weighs a few ounces!

Hi Dawn,
Lots of birds like sunflower hearts and the other benefit is no waste (sunflower shells) to clean up! They're a little more expensive, but you're paying for 100% seed, so it's actually a pretty good deal.

Hi Cindy,
Do you use just the plain suet?
There are also starlings and grackles that come to this feeder and I'm afraid if they discovered suet with nuts or fruit in it, the robin would never get a chance.

Thanks Jayne.

Hi Danielle,
I couldn't believe it when I saw the forecast either for a winter storm warning! Fortunately, it's missing SE MN, but I sure feel bad for everyone up north who are still stuck in winter!

Hi Mom,
I've noticed the robins pecking around under the feeders too and wondered if they were actually finding any bugs or stuff to eat.RuthieJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663411478574192825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4854762792778878452.post-28458217851907586152009-03-30T08:02:00.000-05:002009-03-30T08:02:00.000-05:00We have lots of robins under all the feeders in ba...We have lots of robins under all the feeders in back.
