A January Thaw!

It was beautiful and sunny in Minnesota today -- nice enough to cause puddles on my deck from the melting of snow and ice that's been accumulating for weeks.

And it's not just today that's nice......look at this forecast for the next week! By the looks of this forecast, maybe all the snow will be melted off my deck by the end of the weekend! Sure doesn't take much to make Minnesotans happy in the middle of winter does it?

And check out this great new pattern book I purchased today. One of my Etsy customers suggested I think about knitting some doggeh sweaters for my Etsy store, so I couldn't resist getting this book. Stay tuned for pictures of finished sweaters in a few weeks.......

The doggie coats are oh so cute!

All my outside cats were sitting on our little deck soaking up the sun rays today. There was a lot of melting going on, on the deck and the back steps. Mine should be clear by the weekend, even if I have to use the ice chopper. Because of the trees in front we never have full sun so that will be a little while before it melts.
It will be a little bit before it melts in front of the house. It is a welcome relief to have above zero weather,AHH. Lots of dripping going on to.

Hi Mom, It will be nice to have our deck melted off, but I would be much happier to have the driveway free of snow and ice instead.

Warmer weather is headed our way also, Ruthie! I hope my gutters and downspouts thaw before it rains this weekend.

You can say that again and again!!!

...although not nearly as cold as you, we haven't seen the sun or the 30s since before Christmas (teens mostly), but yesterday the sun came out and temps went into the low 30s, I didn't even button my coat it felt so warm!

I can't wait to see some of your doggeh sweaters!

Our weather forecast promises warmer temps for the coming week, too. Unfortunately, freezing drizzle for today though. Ugh.

I have a feeling your doggie sweaters/coats will be a big hit on your Etsy site, Ruthie. I look forward to seeing them.

P.S. Word verification is "caters." Ruthie's knitting caters to doggehs!

Even thought it's really cloudy, I sure am enjoying the mild temps today- especially since it's my day off! Art and I will head up to Hasty on Saturday and it's supposed to be even nicer. Then of course, there's SUNDAY WITH THE VIKINGS!

Hi Kelly,
Did you also notice how it even smelled like spring outside? It's always good to see the sun, but especially this time of year!

Hi Mama Pea,
I think I saw some freezing drizzle predicted for us later next week too. Ugh! I wish it would stay cold enough for snow instead.

Hi Lynne,
I really like the weather they're predicting for this weekend. Have a good trip up to Hasty....I think we're going to be taking some deerstands down during the nice weekend.

Hi Lisa,
It will be fun to try knitting some dog sweaters....another good way to use up the massive quantities of yarn stashed all over my house!
