YIKES!

Snowy Owl (photo taken November 8, 2005 on a garage in a residential area of Rochester, MN) CLICK TO ENLARGE!

It finally hit me today that it's only 2 weeks till Christmas and the only decoration I have out so far is a flag on my mailbox! It's also only 2-1/2 weeks till the end of the year at work and things are already getting kinda crazy there too.

So, I'm going to have to make some adjustments here at home in order to get everything done and unfortunately I think it's going to mean less time for blogging (at least during the week). So my posts for the next couple weeks are going to become a little sporadic. I will try to check in to stay in touch with what everyone else has going on, but don't worry if you don't see a post from me for a few days, because I'm probably trying to finish knitting a pair of socks or a cap in time for Christmas!

Ruthie - only two weeks to Christmas? I've decorated but I'm not ready.

Hey, don't worry about the blogging thing. Sometimes life gets in the way of posting and visiting.

Right now I'm thinking about my next post. But, you know what? There's nothing going on upstairs... Anyway, I have stuff to do like start shopping yada yada yada.

We'll all be doing the same stuff.

Happy Decorating!

Hugs,
Mare

Dang Ruthie- that's an awesome picture!! A snowy owl last winter in Duluth was my biggest thrill bird. Don't worry about blogging, just do what you have to do. We're trying "minimal decorating" this year!

Ruthie, I lost my breath when I saw this Snowy Owl on the roof of this building. Don't tell me this is in your garden and you feed it mice daily.

Don't you worry about a blogging thing during the holidays. I will miss your posts but I will also look forward to entertaining posts about the northern snow country when you are able to blog.

Happy Holidays... Lisa

P.S. I tried to write a post previously and lost it so I hope this isn't a repeat.

Merry Christmas!! Happy New Year!!

Hi Mary,
I need some Wonder Woman pills!
I think most of my gifts this year will be homemade....I seriously can't even bear the thought of going into a store and searching for a gift. Thank goodness for the USPS Click & Ship too--that means not having to stand in line at the Post Office.
Thanks for the Hug, I needed that!

Hi Lynne,
Aren't those snowy owls just the coolest thing? I was working at WBU when this one showed up in Rochester. One of our regular customers had come into the store to tell us about it. "come on, let's go" she said to me and I grabbed my camera before I remembered to ask the boss if it was OK if I left for a bit. OOPS! Good thing it was such an amazing bird-related event--most employers wouldn't let their people off that easily, I think.

Hi Lisa,
No....not my garage, but if it was, any owl would be welcome there and could eat its fill of mice, voles and bunnies in my backyard.

Hi Mon@rch,
I know, that's exactly the was I was too! We started across the street and finally moved up slowly to the end of the driveway to take photos and the owl just sat there. It really did take my breath away!

பாஸ்கரன்,
Thanks for visiting my blog.... glad you enjoyed the pictures.

Hey Ruthie,

Take it easy on yourself! Gosh knows, I sure have. Something has got to give, right?

I just bought a new tree last night (allergies won't permit a real tree). It finally goes up today. I decided that the 12 foot tree I've been assembling single handedly, including putting on lights, was not fun anymore. Unless we're having a party, fugetaboudit. My new tree is 7.5 feet tall and pre-lit. Sweet.

P.S. I like the idea of Wonder Woman Pills!

What a picture of that Snowy Owl from a couple of years ago, I remember it made the news on TV and the paper. They are such impressive birds to see and a rare treat.
Hurray!!!!Lynne is back with a comment.

A grat picture of a snowy owl....I wish one would visit me. Don't fret about Christams, Ruthie. It all gets done eventually. I think I feel a little "squeezed" this year because things seemed to start up right after Halloween. I'm bringing things down from the attic in between blog visits. You have lots of company...If we don't hear from you by Christmas, we'll send out the blog police. Seriously, we all understand. Just don't go away for good.

PS: Go visit Salty at Country Captures (link on my blog). He's got a nice shot of a Fox Sparrow.

We'll forgive a brief absence for holiday decorating! Enjoy the frenzy of the season... There will be time to rest in January...

Dear Ruthie,

I will miss all the cool stuff happening around your place. However, I can get over it. I will be joining you in the Christmas frenzy. I have the girls and the husband and the mom taken care of. It is everyone else that I am behind on. And like you, most of those are handmade. Maybe we need a mutual aid and support society? Good luck, girl. I'm pulling for you.
