Flash Flood Watch?

How can this be? We are in a flash flood watch from 7 PM tonight into tomorrow morning. This weather is just nuts! One week ago we were in severe drought conditions and this afternoon another weather system containing heavy rain is approaching us from southwest Iowa.

Believe me, if there was anything I could do to share some of this rain with those of you who are still bone dry, I would. This has got to be the craziest weather summer I can remember.

I'm sure hoping it will spread up here. We got just a fraction of what you got last weekend.

WOW! More rain I can't believe it, but oh I wish some of this rain would go to the drought areas around us. The 2.60 ins last was wonderful, the lawn has sure greened up. Lynne maybe this will move your way it is going northeast. Have fun watching it rain Ruthie.

I sure hope you got more than we did. We live in a small town called Waterville, between Mankato and Faribault on highway 60. The radar showed rain over us for almost 30 minutes. All we actually got was a tiny sprinkle! Cindy

So, Lynne, did you end up getting any rain last night? Thankfully we only got 3/10s of an inch. I'll be mowing grass when I get home from work today (it's been about 3 weeks)

Hi Mom,
I heard it raining once during the night but didn't check on the time. You probably got more than we did again, being so close to Iowa?

Hi Cindy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I DO know where Waterville is and have passed through there on more than one occasion. Sounds like you guys are still very dry also....hopefully you will get something more than sprinkles through this weekend.

You have too much rain, after drought. Sadly, this is part of what happens with global climate change--weather extremes. Too much whatever, too little whatever.
Yesterday there was a TORNADO in New York City--talk about extremes.

Hi Donna,
Poor Mother Earth just doesn't know what to do anymore. I didn't get a chance to see the nightly news yesterday, but the tornado must have been big new in NYC. Yikes!

Ruthie,

I agree! This has been the year of Extremes!

We are still waiting for heat relief and rain clouds.
