Happy 50th Mom & Dad

On August 17th, 1957, Mom & Dad entered the world of wedded bliss at St. James Lutheran Church in Chicago, Illinois. And what an event that was! As little kids, we never tired of looking through their wedding photo album.

Fast forward 50 years to August 17th, 2007, and I'm sure they're still thinking, "where has that time gone?" Today they have 4 grown (one almost middle-aged) children, three grandchildren, and a great grandchild due to arrive sometime before the end of August.

They've been through the same tragedies and triumphs that most married couples encounter over the years and through it all they have been sustained by their love for each other and their strong faith in God.

Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary Mom & Dad. I Love You!

Thank You Ruth for the nice anniversary blog, now all your blogging friends will know what a special day it is for Dad and me. David and Darlene E. took us out for dinner at the Bank Gift Haus, and it was wonderful. Tonite we are going to see "The Sunshine Boys" a play by Neil Simon. It is part of Wilder Fest in Spring Valley MN.

Hi Mom & Dad,
I didn't get a chance to put a "happy ad" in the paper, so thought a blog post just for you would be the next best thing!

Hi Larry,
We just had a family get-together....and Mom planned it all herself, so that was pretty easy.

Hi Ruth,
On behalf of Mom & Dad, thank you (they read my blog so will see your message also).

Hi Mary,
A lot sure can happen in 50 years. Thanks for stopping by to leave your special message too.

Hi Jayne,
Hopefully you will have as much fun celebrating your parents as we did at our celebration.

Hi Ruthie,

Happy 50th Anniversary to your mom and dad! May God bless them with many more years together. When we recently celebrated our 40th I certainly couldn't believe where the years have gone, and I'm sure your mom and dad are thinking the same way. Yet they have grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way to realize they have lived and are living life to the fullest. Here's to your mom and dad!

Hi Mary,
Thanks for your good wishes. My dad is past his "three score and ten" and my mom will reach hers in October, so I always tell them they're in their bonus years! I hope they're around for a long while yet too.
