I got to the fair this afternoon with all my beautiful projects only to find out that entry day was last Friday, July 30th! I guess it's been way too long since my last fair entry and I definitely will be reading the fine print a bit closer next year -- when I get these projects out of storage and try re-enter them again. So now, please consider this blog post as a review of my recently completed knitting projects and thank you so much for all your kind comments! For the first time in many years, I'm going to enter some of my knitting projects for competition at the Olmsted County Fair. Entry day is Monday, August 2nd and judging day is Tuesday, August 3rd. Here are photos of the 4 items I'll be entering. I'll let you know later on this week whether any of these items win any blue ribbons.
Baltic Mittens
Maia Shawl (front view)
Maia Shawl (back view)

Swirl Cap (not your standard cables!)
Norwegian Wedding Gloves
Have a good week everybody! Can you believe it's August already??

Those look great. Good luck at the fair.
good Luck at the Olmsted County Fair. It sure had been a long time since you took anything to the fair. Lets hope you win all blue ribbons.

You are so talented, I'd be VERY surprised if you didn't take home lots of ribbons! And no, I can't believe it's August already!
I really love the shawl, and the colorful mittens, and the swirls on the hat, and the wedding gloves. Is it really time for this cold weather weather wear?
I just met a visitor from Olmsted County, and that's my last name.
Good luck at the Fair!
Well, rest assured they are already blue ribbon winners in our eyes! :c) Good luck Ruthie!
That's awesome, Ruthie! I love each and every item you've showcased, but that cap with those swirly cables is really amazing. Good luck! -Heather (of the Hills)
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. I'm disappointed that I missed the entry day deadline due to not reading the fine print. Maybe next year......
Ouch! Sorry about missing the deadline, Ruthie! Oh well, you have lots of company with we over 50 group. I agree, all your projects look like award winners to me.
What a bummer! I wonder when they changed the entry day, not when any of us were looking.

Sorry to hear that you missed the entry deadline. In my eyes they're all Bleu Ribbon winners.
This summer has been flying by, and it's looking like August is going to be a scorcher!
What beautiful work...you must have been super disappointed. Thanks for letting all of us see them!
Of course, they had to turn you away, your knitting would have shamed all the other knitters! They didn't want you to take home the blue ribbon in every category!
I came here from Ravelry and Hats for Hunger. I love your work and I hope you don't have to work too hard to support your fun.
